It was easy to tell when Wei Ying wanted something. Despite being a tall, slender fifteen-year-old who had recently topped the rankings of the most popular gongzi, he still acted like a child begging for a toy.
"Gra-n-d-pa!"
Wen RuoHan raised an eyebrow. Wei Ying had approached him while he was instructing Wen Xu on administrative matters. “What do you want?” he asked bluntly. Though his tone was dry, it wasn’t hostile. In fact, he seemed amused. He probably enjoyed indulging his grandson more than anyone could imagine.
Wei Ying smiled and pulled out letters bearing the Lan seal—the same invitations that had arrived at the Sun Palace every year for over a decade, only to be fed to the goats.

The year of studies at Cloud Recesses is coming. Wen Xu is skeptical. Wen RuoHan is disgusted. Wei Ying has his own methods of persuasion.

"Wei Ying," Lan Wangji repeats, breathing ragged. Up close, Wei Wuxian can see that his eyes are red rimmed. His hair is more disheveled than it usually is- which is still way too neat in Wei Wuxian's opinion. Lan Wangji's shaking fingers reach out to cup his face. "Late," he croaks out, voice hoarse.
But it is a normal occurrence for Wei Wuxian to return late in the night. This, however, is not.
(Lan Wangji has nightmares about Wei Wuxian's death and his husband is there to keep him reassured and loved.)

Wei Ying blinked out of his daze.
“What?” He then realised that he had been shivering. When did that happen?
“I’m fine!” Wei Ying sputtered, looking earnestly at the man before him. He would be fine if he weren’t so distracted by the hands that seemed to cover his entire waist.
The man gave him a look as if he knew he was lying, then sighed softly.
“Come with me, you will get sick.” And finally, mercifully, the hands slipped away from his waist, and Wei Ying could finally breathe.
Wei Ying falls for a golden eyed stranger in a storm. Literally.

Lan Zhan gives him a searching look and Wei Wuxian knows in that moment he could ramble something about giving Lan Zhan his gift later, and that it’s not yet five so they should go back to sleep, and Lan Zhan would allow it. They would go back to sleep and Lan Zhan wouldn’t hold Wei Wuxian down and- and compliment him. He would not, for a single second, begrudge Wei Wuxian for fleeing from this thing that Wei Wuxian often finds so hard to handle but Lan Zhan wants.
Wei Wuxian nods and Lan Zhan’s mouth quirks to the side in a small, pleased smile. Ugh, his husband. Wei Wuxian loves him so much.
Or it's Lan Wangji's birthday and what he wants, and gets, is to compliment his husband without him running from it.

"Who? Is... is he okay?" His voice is barely held together, even as Lan Wangji tightens his grip on the steering console.
"We believe it was Wei Wuxian."
Crashes are an unfortunate but familiar sight in Formula One, usually non-critical incidents that see the safe return of a driver. Wei Wuxian's crash is an anomaly.

Summary
Raising a hand to block out the bright sun, Wei Ying took in how they chose the perfect day for A-Yuan’s swimming lessons. Big fluffy clouds drifted along like fuzzy bees high on nectar, occasionally blocking out the sun and giving the people below a slight reprieve from the direct heat. A slight breeze that just barely made their hair dance yet didn’t disturb the dry sand was the final cherry on top of such great weather.
Even the ocean was perfect-- the clear water reflected the sun, almost glowing with golden light. The small waves gently touched the people swimming along the coastline, not toppling over anyone at all.
Wei Ying and Lan Zhan teach little A-Yuan how to swim. Prompt provided for MDZS Gotcha for Gaza.
