They just left him.They left Jonny on this shitty planet. It's not the first time they have done this, but it’s the first time they have left him so long that he's pretty sure they're not coming back for him.
It has been about 2000 years since they left him on this godforsaken planet and he hated it here. At first it was fun, he killed lots of people, even did it as a job for a while as a gladiator when he found himself in Rome and no matter the outcome of the fight he had a good time. He also drank a lot, this place didn't have the best variety he had ever seen but it was still alcohol so he drank it. He also (though he would never admit it) loved learning the languages, and history of this planet. Nothing worth a song but it was interesting nonetheless.
Or
Jonny is left on earth for 2000 years.
He then become Jon sims to pass the time, and as an attempt to be less like the guy that the crew obviously disliked enough to leave.
He quickly regrets a lot after becoming far to attached to some mortals.Series

No. They shame him for needing to eat statements and blame him for almost bringing about the apocalypse and being a potential cause of it going forward as Elias continues his evil plans. An apocalypse that he stopped by causing great medical trauma to himself. And Jon, now in pain and struggling through various therapies, has had it.

Grief is a funny thing. Yes, THAT kind of funny. Tim has always rationalized it as a fugue state, a fever dream, a waking nightmare that you can learn to control if you can find the right words, the right joke. It's like casting a spell, really. Mundane magic. Laughter is the only way to snatch lucidity back from the monsters that haunt you, both real and unreal. It's the only thing that keeps them from devouring you.
But as he watches the wax museum burn, as he cradles the corpse of the man he hated beyond all reason in his arms, as he comes to terms with the fact that he's alive and Daisy is dead, Danny is dead, Sasha is dead, Jon is...he just can't find the punchline.

The Eye Knows and Sees all, but it cannot understand. That’s what the Archivist is for, to experience, understand, and archive terrible knowledge and fear, and filter that back to the Eye. If Jonah Magnus is the Pupil of the Eye, then Jonathan Sims is the brain that processes what the Eye and Pupil see, for the Beholding does not possess the neural pathways required to feel, let alone understand, fear. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on who you ask) that is about to change.
What happens when a knowledge-seeking entity that cannot think is directly linked to a (lonely, stubborn, morally strict, self-deprecating) human who thinks plenty enough for the both of them?
Or:
the Beholding gains sentience and promptly realizes: life is unfair and existence is pain, but at least it has its funky little Archivist.Jon, freshly woken from a six-month coma, gains a loyal, if annoying, companion during his lowest point.

Summary
After getting tangled in the web of tapes and timelines at the end of the world, Jon was sent back to where it all started; A familiar promotion to Head Archivist, and another chance to get things right.
He failed the first time. And the second, and third, and fourth, and so many other attempts to get things "right" he tries to hide from Elias by keeping any ties to Fear buried underneath a personality and consciousness that has no idea he's present.
Jon's past self doesn't know what he's in for- or what he's capable of with a monster lurking under his skin, while his future self is used to death sending him back for another attempt.
Neither are going to have a good time, but the rest of the Archives team certainly will once Jon stops keeping them out of the loop- especially since this one isn't rewinding.

OR -- I wrote a chatfic like it's 2020, except it's a TMA/Mechs crossover that really never should've left the dark crevices of my brain that it crawled out of. Featuring a vast array of homosexual hijinks, innumerable octokittens, emotional constipation to such a degree that no amount of laxatives could fix it, and a fuckload of explosions.
ALSO -- This fic contains violence. And character death. Personally, I wouldn't say that it warrants any archive warnings, as I personally wouldn't consider it graphic and, although it is character death, the characters in question are kind of immortal, so, y'know. But I'm using 'chose not to use warnings' because others might consider it graphic or MCD. Please bear this in mind, and look after yourself :]

Summary
Against all odds, Jon figures out a way to reverse the apocalypse - a Web and Spiral domain that should be able to send him back in time. In order to make things as uncomplicated as possible, the plan is for him to travel back to just before the apocalypse started.
Instead he wakes up in 1995, in his eight-year-old body.
Stuck in the past at an age when nobody will take him seriously, Jon will have to team up with some of his worst enemies if he wants to survive to see the future he knows... and unfortunately, things just keep on getting more complicated from there.

They'd agreed that Eliad would chose the name if it was a boy and Any would if it was a girl. It ended up being a boy and when Elias held him for the first time, he stared down at his son with a wide smile and said "Hello, Jon."
