Summary
He catches up to Ghost easily enough. Their rooms are located in the same wing, a couple doors down from one another, separated by less than a dozen concrete walls and a flimsy metal lock. No one else is there when they reach their destination so before Ghost can slip into his own room, and past Johnny’s grasping fingertips, he taps his knuckles against Ghost’s arm to catch his attention.
Ghost rolls his shoulders back the way he does when preparing for a fight and Soap unconsciously matches him by planting his feet. Coiled on the defence, like a damn snake hoping not to get stepped on.
In the aftermath of their mission, and the subsequent conversation in Ghost's quarters, Johnny notices a newfound distance between them. Stonewalled at every opportunity, it doesn't take long for his patience to wear thin. He doesn't expect much to change after a disastrous attempt at communication but when his rut dawns on the horizon he tosses a proposition his lieutenant's way regardless.

He’s worked Ghost hard tonight. He’s been out of the country too long; left him to be lost in his head for too long but he’s been back nearly two whole weeks and Ghost still hadn’t come to him.

Summary
Ghost nods to himself when the straps are secured, then comes to Soap’s head. He grips his jaw firmly and pets over his ears, his hair, until Soap is doe-eyed and lax in his hold. “I’m going to get my examination tools now,” Ghost tells him, his voice low and hypnotic, his eyes so dark they’re almost black, unblinking. He’s so strong, his presence is enough to bring Soap to heel so easily. Soap nods dumbly, wetting his lips. “Some of the items I want to use may be uncomfortable, even frightening at first. I want you to tell me if anything hurts, or if you’re in genuine distress. Otherwise, I’ll continue my exam until I’m satisfied.” He pauses to let the words sink in. “Do you understand, Johnny?”
Soap’s mouth is so wet with saliva, his tongue so heavy. He swallows and makes himself nod. “Aye.” Ghost arches a brow. “I understand. Sir. I’ll be good.”
“I know you will,” Ghost soothes, his fingers brushing Soap’s brow, the bridge of his nose, his blushing cheeks, the corners of his mouth. Under the hinge of his jaw to make him show his throat. “You’re a good boy, I know you are.”

Summary
Soap swings the door wide and gestures him through, ushers Ghost to stand in front of the wardrobe. Twin mirrors hang on the doors, full length and in Soap’s opinion, particularly flattering. Ghost’s gaze darts to his nervously, twitching as he starts to get an idea of what Soap intends. He looks terrified, but to his credit he stays standing there, lets his focus land on Soap’s reflection over his shoulder.
“I’m going to prove you wrong, Ghost. Want to show you what a good omega you are.”
