Summary
Far to the east of Westeros, beyond the Free Cities and smoldering Valyria, beyond even ancient Qarth lies the Golden Empire of Yi-Ti. Richest and greatest of all realms in the known world, this land is a mystery to most in Westeros who only know of it as the edge of civilisation. But there are wonders to be discovered here; from Golden Yin, largest of all cities, to the Jade Lighthouse, guardian of the Godless Gap, to the endless plains of the Great Kitzin, to the towering Five Forts. There are a thousand peoples as well, all with different beliefs and customs waiting to be discovered. There are wonders of science and logic, such as the great Dragon-Lances. And as with any place in the world of Ice and Fire, there are darker things lurking in the shadows.

An interesting entry to a virtually unseen area throughout the ASOIAF. Kudos to the author for fleshing out Yiti, albeit with an intentional biased lense that reflects more of the character's culture and social status.

Athena’s eyes flash and glow, and she raises her hands. Annabeth closes her eyes, and everything in the air sizzles to a stop. There is a faint sea breeze, and then a familiar presence at her side.
“It would be unwise of you to hurt her.”
She opens her eyes to her boyfriend’s dad standing behind her, his eyes intent on her mother, who looks like she’s about to blow her top. Annabeth doesn’t breathe, doesn’t look away from Athena, but she takes several quick steps back to stand at Poseidon’s side. It’s not conscious; it’s a move based purely on self-preservation. Still, Annabeth is aware that every step she takes into the sea increases her mother’s ire and decreases the likelihood that Annabeth will ever be forgiven.

aka: Poseidon wants Percy to ascend. He'd like it even better if Percy chose to ascend. And if the best reason to become a god is for love, it doesn't take Poseidon long to realize that he doesn't have to look any further than Annabeth Chase. Meanwhile, while Annabeth is balancing PTSD, protecting Percy, and being a good daughter of a goddess who doesn't seem to care, she now has to figure out why she is on Poseidon's radar.

Over the last few days, Annabeth has spent a great deal of time imagining what was stolen, what could cause Percy and the Stolls so much antagonism and strife. She imagined valuables and prized possessions and even—thanks to Malcolm—something as ridiculous as an engagement ring.
But never, not once, had she considered the possibility of a baby doll.
Because who in Hades would?
“That wasn’t just some children’s toy!”
And Annabeth can feel it. She can feel Percy's rage bursting forth with his words—a pressure that whips through the pavilion like the briny wind of a sea storm. It's something primal, she thinks. Something desperate. So when Percy rises to his feet, climbing and cresting like a tidal wave, Annabeth doesn't blame the Stolls for shrinking toward the floor. If she didn't know Percy so well, she would do the same.
“That doll,” Percy grits out, “is worth fifty percent of my Home Economics grade!”
