Summary
Henry hadn’t known how to read for most of his life, and now he did. More or less. Which didn’t mean that he always had the words to decipher a conversation, a relationship, the sort of encounter that Hans had initiated, and what was to follow.
Henry shrugged his shoulder at the book, and said, “I was just thinking… maybe before, I would have looked at a book and seen nothing but a jumble of letters. Is that how the inside of an unschooled person’s head, like myself, looks like sometimes? Nothing but digging around in the dirt for radishes, all ashy from working at the forge.”
Note: I should disclaim as usual that I haven’t played the game, but have enjoyed myself watching video of parts of gameplay and the main narrative, so I hope that nothing herein is directly contradicted within the game, or in a way that’s bothersome.

If Riku had been another person, he might have liked Kairi in that way. As it were, Kairi could have been a princess with a heart of such purity it unlocked doors into other worlds, which she was, and she still wouldn’t have been Sora. Which was in itself another problem for Riku.
KH1-centric. Riku deals with growing up, jealousy, and hurting his most precious person. Mickey Mouse tries to comfort an angst-ridden teenager with campfire marshmallows.

This started out as a fix-it fic to give Luke some actual emotional intelligence regarding taking Grogu as his student, and turned into yet another one of my stories about love, meditation, and trauma recovery. Also, I've only watched bits and pieces of The Mandalorian. Discrepencies to canon may appear in this fic, even beyond the general creative liberties of writing this.
