Charlie felt bad. He didn't like letting people down, and he certainly didn't like letting Mr. Ajayi down. He sighed, seriously annoyed with himself now.
When he walked past Mr. Ajayi's desk at the end of the lesson, ready to leave the school day behind and change into his rugby gear, he slowly started feeling better. The prospect of seeing Nick always made him feel better. But even that felt tainted today, as if a dark cloud was trying to drown out the ray of sunshine in his life that was Nick. Charlie shuddered involuntarily.
“Anything I can help you with?” Mr. Ajayi's voice was soft and sympathetic, and with a sudden uncomfortable feeling that he had never before felt in the presence of his arts teacher Charlie realised that all the other students had already left, leaving the two of them alone. He lowered his eyes to the ground and shook his head in silence.
This had always been his safe space.
It didn't feel like that today.

Charlie navigates his eating disorder while in a new relationship + Ben trauma and Nick navigates coming out to the team + David trauma. But really it's just boys in love.

Matthias was so different from what Jesper was used to. He wasn’t the sharp Inej, or the directing Kaz, or the playful Nina, or the lovely Wylan. Matthias wasn’t like any of the lovers Jesper had taken before the crows either. No Matthias was his own thing completely. Maybe it was his Fjerdan roots.
Matthias was modest in almost every sense. He was less so around Nina, their shared history making him comfortable, but with the rest of them, he always seemed reserved.
Which was a damn shame. Because Jesper wanted him. He wanted him bad.
