He paused for a split second, and all of a sudden Kaoru knew what was coming. The realization hit him like a freight train, and he wasn’t fast enough to tell Rei to stop, to force the words back into his mouth so they weren’t spoken into existence, as if maybe the truth could be forestalled for another time, another day, when Kaoru was prepared, but his plea came too late.
“...attending my omiai.”
Kaoru’s mind went white.

I also apologize for the quality of the fanfic from chapter four onward, reading it back it is not my best work, especially compared to chapters 1 & 2. I have been doing really well with publishing once daily, but my work is suffering for it. So, either when I finish the book or after a few more chapters, I will stop posting updates daily, go back and rewrite the written chapters to be better, and then continue on. Hope you understand.
