    Growing up, Harry knew that he would have to fight Voldemort. After spending 21 years of his life to defeat the Dark Lord, Harry Potter was finally enjoying doing something else. Staying in London under the guise of James Black, he had managed to use his skills and a few very powerful connections to be hired as a consultant on a project with the Ministry of Magic and the Department of Mysteries. The plan: familiarize himself with the country where his parents and his favorite uncles grew up and live a normal life.

    Two months later, in a cozy bookshop off London's magical streets, a used Quidditch book caught Harry's eye. One that was clearly loved with wonderful little notes and anecdotes scrawled in its margins—tactics, secret recipes, hidden magical locations, and little glimpses of someone pouring their heart out into that book. Someone who had never been hurt by a diary and thus had no reason to mistrust one. A certain "Firecracker" who seemed to love flying.

    Discovering London through the book also leads to a chance encounter with a feisty redhead. This might be the most wonderful Christmas yet for the savior of the world.

    For H/G fans with a little Hallmark magic.

    It turns out almost getting eaten by a werewolf can make your whole life go careening off in a new, terrifying, wondrous, artistically flourishing direction. Who knew?
