Summary
The apocalypse has come and gone, and against all odds, Pharloom remains standing. But Luis does have something else: a prototype formula that would allow a host to retain their mind, even as the plaga transforms them, turning the plaga’s relationship with the host from parasitic to symbiotic.
Out of options and out of time, Leon takes the drug. When it’s done, Saddler’s voice is gone and Leon’s mind is crystal clear. But now, he has to keep both Luis and Ashley safe and get out of this hellhole in Spain, all the while living his worst nightmare.

So none of them can really be held responsible for not knowing the mating habits of their childhood boogeyman… or that dancing is apparently the kick starter to a week-long marathon of creepy clown courting… And so, so much more.

Summary
Sam shifted his weight anxiously from foot to foot, spring-loaded and ready for anything he might try to throw his way. “What is this?” he panted. “Are you real?”
“Oh, I’m as real as it gets.” Palms upturned, Higgs slowly began to lift his arms out to his sides. “Now, this little game of ours may have been on pause for a while, but what do you say we get back to it, hmm? Amelie or no Amelie, the big number six is—” His voice faded.
And then he stopped. He froze in place, and even at a distance, even under the hood of his suit, Sam could tell something was wrong.
Then the BTs came, screaming and clawing and bubbling up from the ground at Higgs’ feet. Sam drew his weapon, but there was no need. They were focused on Higgs, and Higgs alone. Very quickly, he began to sink into the tar.
Sam doesn’t know why he did what he did. He should’ve turned and walked away; let them drag that fucker down with them where he belongs. Maybe that would’ve tasted like justice. Hell, the place was already a crater – what more damage could a Voidout even do?
But no. Instead, he ran straight towards the fray.

“Well, howdy there, friends!” Higgs shouted.
Sam whipped his head around and almost lost his balance again. Higgs was standing on the damp sand a dozen or so meters away from them. He looked exactly like he had on APAS’s Beach: shirtless, hair down, tattooed, and very much human. There was no replica of Amelie’s quipu around his neck, and he appeared unarmed, but otherwise he made an oddly familiar sight.
“You’re coming back with us,” Sam informed him, closing the distance between them in a few confident strides.
“Awww, I knew my prince would come and rescue me,” Higgs swooned, clasping his hands to his chest.
“You’re…not putting up a fight?” Lou asked uncertainly as Sam snatched one of Higgs’s wrists in a firm grip.
“Why would I, sugar?” he asked, unreactive to Sam unclipping his strand from his belt and unfurling its length. “Nothin’ for me here.”

They hadn't been fighting, not really. Higgs had been toying with him, his need for attention lusting to have him in a manner that eschewed anything but simple entertainment. And yet, amidst strained muscles, calloused fingertips burning atop an electrical guitar, when Higgs had stared at him, had sung Lou's lullaby with nothing but despair mistaken for hope, fate mistaken for a chance, he had never felt more connected to anyone.

Months after the whole continent of Australia has been connected to the chiral network, Sam receives an urgent call while on route to finish a delivery. A disruption in the tar currents has been detected, and he is asked to investigate. With an uneasy feeling, Sam accepts the request and soon finds himself face to face with an old enemy, who should very much not be alive. Unable to ignore this turn of events, the crew members of the DHV Magellan are forced to take Higgs Monaghan into custody.
