A traumatic brain injury leads to a downward spiral for Steve. He's dropped from the Blackhawks, his recovery is slow and rocky, and he's got no idea what to do with his life.
Enter his old friends, Eddie and Dustin, who spend their time poking around decrepit haunted locations filming for their YouTube channel. Steve doesn't really believe in all this ghost stuff, but he's got nothing better to do than join them.
Besides, he might just be ever-so-slightly head-over-heels for Eddie Munson.

Cold’s sinking into his bones, and Gator feels old, much older than his eighteen years.
He cranks the window down.

I’m an 18 year old, formerly popular high school graduate with no ambition and no real plans to get out of my home town. I worked at an ice cream shop until the mall burned down (I was there, technically no alibi but I nearly died so the police never questioned me) and now I rent out video tapes, but the low pay isn’t a problem because I still live with my parents and they’re rich. They didn’t invite me on their holiday travel plans because I’m an embarrassment to the family name for not wanting to be a bloodsucking lawyer.
