And my dear, beloved ex still has my Soul Jam.” His voice dripped with sarcasm as he sneered at the very thought. “I’d say it’s time to pay him a visit.”
“Oh, Vanilla,” he murmured, his voice practically purring. “You always did have a soft heart, didn’t you?”
He chuckled darkly, rolling his shoulders. “I don’t need force. I need an invitation.”
And what better way to get that than by playing the part of something pathetic?
A fallen scholar. A lost soul. A former lover, regretful, broken, begging for redemption.

This was no memory. He was actually here, back at the Silver Tree. Before the world collapsed, before the beasts were set free, before... everything. In a moment, they would fail to reseal the tree, setting Shadow Milk Cookie free from his restraints. There was still the possibility of this being one of Shadow Milk's games, but it just didn't make sense. He wouldn't be so foolish as to send Pure Vanilla into the past.
He's in the past... Before everything went wrong. He had the chance to fix everything-- stop the beasts from spreading their chaos and destruction. Stop his friends from suffering. But, most importantly, he had the chance to speak to Shadow Milk again and understand him better-- to convince him that they truly were one in the same.
It was a second chance.
