Summary
They’re both lying on James’ bed, listening to the rain outside that’s still falling heavily against the roof tiles. James has his arms wrapped around Sirius, but it’s mainly because he’s worried about his friend being too cold and catching a chill as a result. There isn’t much more that they can do to prevent that, seeing as the duvet is already pulled up to their shoulders and Sirius has a hot water bottle tucked under his arm, but James can’t really help worrying.
James and Sirius accidentally end up in a queerplatonic relationship!

“You haven’t.” Bob thinks bitterly, nails digging into his sleeve. “You’d be so much better off without me. If I had never existed at all then you might have been happy.”
“Just let me know how I’ve messed up so that I can properly apologise for it. I’m already sorry, and I have no idea what it is that I’ve done.”
“You haven’t fucking done anything!”
Bob only realises that he’s blurted it out loud when there’s a surprised pause. It’s strange, but he swears that he can almost hear Johns thoughts spilling out as he tries to figure out what’s the right thing to say next.
“It’s not you.” Bob clarifies, and oh fuck, there’s more tears spilling out now

“Don’t do that,” Jonathan says. His gentle voice sounds tinny coming through the walkie’s speaker.

Now, to most people, this would be an obvious fact; some evil telekinetic man from another dimension is trying to kill him and everyone he loves, of course he’s gonna be kind of down. But Mike isn’t most people. Mike is his boyfriend— of about four months now— and he knows that this isn’t about the war. This is about something much more important— Christmas.
