The hunt for Hank MacLean leads Lucy and the Ghoul to New Vegas, but a shortcut through a cazador nest results in a sting with some... inconvenient side effects. Quarantined together in Vault 21's Honeymoon Suite, the cazador's venom brings on a humiliating, relentless need that Lucy can't ignore and the Ghoul refuses to acknowledge. Their alliance is already tenuous, begrudging, and limited by two centuries of secrets. Can it withstand the fever slowly reaching its boiling point between them? Or will something new be forged altogether?

The sink has hot water. That's a marvel unto itself. The Ghoul lets it run over his hand.
"The shower works, too," Lucy says. "I haven't checked, but if the sink works, the shower will. Vault water chips are an all or nothing situation."
"Huh."
"It's funny, seeing you standing there." Lucy sits on the bed they're supposed to share. "This is exactly like the apartment my husband and I were going to share in Vault 33." When the Ghoul looks at her, she stops cold. "Not that you're my husband. Obviously. Or that this is anything like that. Or that either of us chose to be here. Actually, you know what? I think I'm just going to test out that shower anyway."
The Ghoul chuckles.
A radstorm chases the Ghoul and Lucy MacLean into a seemingly abandoned vault, but. Well. It's Vault-Tec, after all.

There was nothing special about this man. His name was Irdo Gyrk, originally hailing from Chandrila before his need to “see the galaxy” sent him rushing off to the nearest space port, and then his need to eat sent him into the arms of the first steady job he could find. In all, Irdo Gyrk was a plain, unassuming, and all together unimportant man, who worked as a minor assistant to some equally unimportant bureaucrat.
This man was just like any other man, this day just like any other day, and his words just like any other low-level government employee frustrated with the slow-turning cogs of bureaucracy. The difference, of course, is that this time, someone was listening.
That someone was the Force, and it was an asshole.
