“Uhh… Chris?” Jisung speaks through gritted teeth. He must sound much worse than he thinks, because his voice alone sends Chris into a panic.

“Got shot”, Jisung forces out, not nearly lucid enough to explain in more detail. As if reawakened by his words, the sting in his side returns, only about a hundred times more intense, and this time, Jisung blacks out for real.

Without thinking, Seungmin presses accept, knowing that if he spends more than three seconds thinking about it then he’s going to chicken out. “Hyung,” Seungmin starts, but he doesn't know what to say next. Minho cuts him off, regardless.
“Seungmin,” Minho says. Maybe Seungmin is imagining it, but his voice sounds lower than usual, a bit raspier. “You know what you're getting into, right?” When Seungmin just hums, Minho continues, “I need words, puppy.”
Seungmin takes a deep breath. “Yes, hyung.”

Summary
Felix raises a brow, “what’s their surname?”
Minho’s brain short-circuits before he realizes that Han is a comparatively common surname. He fidgets with his fingers, before interlocking them and replying, “Han.”
The room is silent, before Jisung suddenly starts listing out names, “Han Suho, Han Huiwon, Han Minyoung, and I think there’s two more.”
“Three including you,” Changbin adds and Minho sputters.
“Mhm, so six people. Lino, who is it?” Jisung asks again.
Chan had returned from his daze and asked, “Tell us one thing about them and we’ll drop the question.”
Jeongin and Seungmin whine, but Chan shuts them with his that’s enough stare.
Minho licks his lower lip. “Well, I suppose they’re the death of me.”
“...”
“What kind of lovesick cliche are those words?” Hyunjin asks and Minho scowls at him. “You got off with someone you met, shut up.”
Within all the stupid rants, somehow only him, Felix, and Jisung are quiet.

Jeongin sighs. It's not like he's genuinely crushing on Seungmin; just overcome with a dream that won't leave the back of his mind. Those soft cheeks, peachy lips in a playful smile, and gleaming hazel eyes moved so close, putting him under hypnosis. Everything else about Seungmin is just that of a friend. Besides, kissing each other can be considered normal Stray Kids behaviour. He can't forget about that practice room kiss with Jisung, even though he wants to.

Summary
Hyunjin doesn’t know how it started.
His mind bears the weight of a grand, lifeless palace, one that he built off nothing but the abstract idea of Hwang Hyunjin himself – his thoughts and memories; his emotions and sentiments. It isn’t so much of a safe space for him as for those scattered pieces of him, barely forming a continuum of life on the exterior.
Although it is one of Hyunjin's favorite places to be, he’s not there all the time. There are better days where he can manage to stay in the present, living in the present. There are worse days where he has no control over it, where his sorry soul can’t help but escape to this mind palace far, far away from the other reality.
He has grown used to it – the good days, and the bad days. Nothing could get any worse from here, as long as he keeps himself accountable inside this illusory comfort…

“You're new,” Jisung proclaims.
Minho snorts. “Am I?”
“Well, I've never seen you here before.”
“Because you know all of their wedding guests?”
Jisung has to laugh. “I know most of Hyunjin’s side,” he says.
“Well obviously I’m a friend of Seungmin’s.”
Jisung pauses to stare, eyes narrowing with curiosity. “Yeah,” he plays along. “But you’re new.”
Minho chuckles. “You keep saying that. What does that mean?”
“I mean that you’re new. Here. Today. New. I’ve experienced this wedding over thirty times now and—” his breath hitches because he really just said that out loud, but there’s an immediate flicker in Minho’s eyes that has him exhaling with relief.
“Oh. Well.”
alternatively: In which Jisung gets stuck repeating the day when his best friend gets married, only to meet a brand new friendly face a month into the grueling experience.
