Suddenly, she can tell why the room she’s in feels strangely familiar: she’s spent countless hours staring at the artwork displayed on these walls before; the grumbling cat looks exactly like the one she pretends she’s never seen on the Instagram profile that she’s definitely never lurked on in the middle of the night; and the aged leather jacket thrown over the chair in the corner used to frequently hang on the hook by her door. She rubs at her cheeks as she rushes out of bed to the mirror, searching the heterochromatic irises that are no longer both blue, and pressing her fingertips into freckles that she’s never found on her own face.

"Shadow Weaver." She spits out, eyes blazing. She struggles against the restraints, her muscles bulging, but it's no use. "Just wait until the Alliance hears about this."
"Oh but, Adora. You've defected willingly." Shadow Weaver croons. It makes both Catra and Adora look at the sorceress intently. "In fact, you haven't defected at all—you've always been part of the Horde."
Adora furrows her brow. "What are you talking about? I've always lived in Bright Moon." Her voice is shaking now, her eyes darting between the sorceress and Catra.
Shadow Weaver lets out a low laugh. "Correct. But when I'm done with you, that won't even be a distant memory. All you'll remember is being my good little foot soldier and wanting to serve Hordak."
"I will never willingly serve the Horde."
Weaver's laugh is cold and deep like it comes from somewhere other than her chest. "Oh, you will. Once I take away every memory you have of ever being in the Alliance."

"Catra." She supplies. She’s tempted to hold out her hand so she can touch Adora, but she has her hands full.
"Catra," Adora says and it feels like coming home.
For a moment, Adora stops her fidgeting, stock still as she really looks at Catra. Even though it can't be that easy—it's never that easy—Catra's heart beats wildly on the off chance that Adora remembers her.
Like always, she doesn’t remember a thing. Adora shakes her head, the spell broken as she looks down at her watch again. "I have to go." She says again, more explanation than she should ever expect to give a stranger.

"I'm trying to figure this out." Older Catra’s eyes flickered to her younger counterpart, eyes sad. "Did you just rescue me off of Prime’s ship?" She asked the group.
Catra’s eyes flickered down, her hand moving to her neck to rub the spot where the chip used to be embedded. That was answer enough for Older Catra.
"Yeah, we’re going to need a plan to preserve the timeline. And we need to defeat Prime again. And I need to get back to my own time!" She groaned loudly, disturbing the small child in her arms who let out a cry. She automatically started swaying side to side, moving her tail to distract the baby. "Shit Finn, you really know how to start trouble for Mama, huh." She almost cooed as she looked down at the kid in her arms.
The spaceship was so quiet everyone would hear a pin drop.
"Wait, so that baby is yours?" Adora looked like her brain broke, she’d been suspiciously quiet since older Catra and the child appeared.
OR
Catra and Finn end up traveling back in time while the battle with Prime rages on. Catra and Adora have a lot of feelings about this.

"Fuck, really?" She groans kicking a rock next to her. "This is really fucking annoying. The portal was supposed to short circuit distance, not time." Catra slumps over against a tree, leaning her head against it. She then eyes Adora curiously. "What's up with you and all the staring?" She smirks, one of her ears twitching. "Am I on some far-off diplomatic trip with Sparkles? I bet you hate that."
She shakes her head slowly, not sure what to even say. "I—Catra." The tears spring to her eyes now, not much she can do about it. "You're—You've been gone."
Her ears pin back and she stares at Adora, understanding marring her face. "I'm dead?"

Catra stares at her with narrowed eyes. She isn’t sure she can trust her, or anything, at this point. At the same time, though, she feels like she doesn’t have any other options. The Fright Zone is conquered. She has nowhere to go. “... Activating the Portal. And then I woke up here.”
Adora sucks in a quick breath. Catra’s eyes dart over to her—she looks like she’s about to be sick, white-knuckled and pale.
Scorpia’s brows knit together. “Catra, that happened over five years ago.”

Catra pressed her ear to the other side of the door. Shadow Weaver’s threats were coming through loud and clear. How much of Adora’s memory was that witch planning on taking? Catra tapped an experimental claw against the door control. Sealed. Her tail lashed, and she took a slow breath, trying to think. Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad. Maybe Adora would just forget the rebellion, forget leaving the Fright Zone. Maybe things would just… go back to the way they were. That would be fine, wouldn’t it?
