Summary
All Danny wanted was a break. He doesn't remember, clearly, the last time he had some moments to actually stop and breathe.
Hopefully, he can finally escape through the Ghost Zone. After all, the ghosts have seemed to semi-warmup to him now. Not enough to help, but his point still stands.

Phantom is considered the property of the GIW, and by an extent, the U.S. governments' as well.
They'll do anything to recapture their #1 weapon. (They could rule the world with it.)Even going through multiple portals in the filth-filled dregs of the Ghost Zone to do so.

At 3:00 pm, a mysterious portal opens up in the middle of the street. Pro-Heroes are called in, the recent spike of villain attacks having put everybody in a tense funk.
For 32 more minutes, nothing happens.At 3:33 pm, the last thing Aizawa expects to come out of the portal is an injured kid that has wounds gore-y enough to make even the most stoic of heroes frown.

"Which vigilante?"
"Phantom." Aizawa answers.
Naomasa chuckles. "You mean the one people are convinced is a ghost?"
"That's the one," Aizawa confirms.
"Well, there's an easy way to tell if he's him," Naomasa shrugs. "I think an interview with a ghost has a nice ring, don't you?"
Vacationing in Japan sounds nice. Until, that is, you're arrested for vigilantism. Danny Fenton swears on his grave that he's technically not one; after all, you need a quirk to be a vigilante, and Danny Fenton is quirkless.
Besides, who's heard of arresting the dead?!

“Nope.” Danny started picking the table, moving the cloth back and forth. He didn’t meet Shouta’s eyes, “They’re uhh…gone. Or I’m gone? It doesn’t matter, I haven’t seen them in a while.” There was a story there, but Shouta wouldn’t push. He knew a wound when he saw one.
“Any other family? An aunt or uncle perhaps?” He tried instead.
“Nope,” He laid his head on the table using his arms as a pillow, covering Digiorno from view, “none of those.”
“Are you staying with anyone?” Shouta already knew the answer to that question.
“Only if you count the cats as ‘someone,’” He sat up meeting Shouta’s gaze, “I’ve just been around.”
