“Oh, that. Well, you see...” He clears his throat, his mind scrambling to find an excuse to say to his son. “Uju-ya, we weren’t fighting.”
Uju frowns. “You weren’t?”
Ikjun shakes his head firmly. “Nope. Not at all.”
The boy squints his eyes, as if not believing his dad. “Then what were you doing?”
Songhwa’s soul leaves her entire body as Ikjun flails internally for a fraction of a second, his mind going into absolute panic before he lands on the worst possible answer.
“Wrestling.”
or in other words: Lee Uju tries to understand why his appa's room is occasionally locked at night nowadays...

As he tilted his head back down from finishing his drink, the sight of a girl he knew well caught his eye. And just like the time he first saw her on the day of their admissions interview, he found himself unable to peel his eyes away from this long-haired girl who he sat beside and has given a scrunchie to. His mind was telling him to say something, but he was scrambling for words, throat feeling dry as if he didn’t just finish chugging a whole glass of iced tea.
Chae Songhwa and Lee Ikjun have already crossed paths quite a few times before but they never imagined that the next time they'd meet outside of the classroom setting would be in a mixer. Set a few weeks after the freshmen orientation night, the story of how the two became closer friends unfolds.
