We could be back home and staying out of this storm but you decided to have a stick up your exhaust and refuse to listen to my advice because you think you're better than me, than all of us! Now we have to wait for who knows how long for the conditions to get better before we can even try. I didn't want to be here, let alone with you! I'd rather be stuck out here with Black Hook, at least he would care!"

A rare freak weather incident leaves Heavy Iron and Phoenix Fire stranded out in a snowstorm. With temperatures dropping there is only one effective solution - something which the two end up greatly enjoying. Phoenix Fire ends up learning a lot more about the elite than he assumed and gets closer than he ever expected.

Jun grins at the question, "It's for my mom! It's Mother's Day today, so I'm getting a gift for her!" Now that he thinks about it, do Cardbots have parents? He knows that Red Blitz calls Gigantrex his dad, but that's only after they arrived on Earth.
"Do Cardbots have parents?" The rumbles of Heavy Iron's engine stall for a second too long, but Jun didn't notice it. "No." Jun balks for a moment. Cause if not, then where do Cardbots come from?
"…For the most part."
Jun blinked before grinning, "So you do have parents!"
Heavy Iron huffs in annoyance, seemingly uncomfortable with the topic. "Not conventionally. Most of the time, it's closer to an apprenticeship than anything."
(Or in which, Heavy Iron holds too much secrets and trauma about the million years long war he was forced into from the day he existed so he traumadumps on the 14 year old child he tried to murder once)

Takes place in a world where, yes, The War™ is going on. However, due to Reasons Soundwave and Co. are tasked with creating holoforms (like holograms but solid and actually practical) so they can infiltrate The Humans (also ™). Will the infiltrating happen in this series? Meh. Will there be shenanigans? Absolutely yes.
All of these were written literal years ago and can be found in the main fic Spectral Frequencies in chapters with 'Human Element' in the chapter title. I asked if people wanted these little bits compiled into one separate fic when I wrote chapter 48, people said yes, and then I never actually did it because university drained my life away.
Regardless, 2-4 years later, here is the separate, compiled Human Element.
