"What?" Naruto didn't understand what was happening. He looked like someone just told him that the Third Hokage was actually a unicorn all along and then showed him proof of said claim.
"I will come back to the village with you," Sasuke repeated magnanimously. But, after a moment of thought, he added, "if you give up on eating ramen."
The silence that befell this time rang loud in the ears of everyone present.

Sasuke offers Naruto a deal. If Naruto gives up on ramen, Sasuke will come back with him to the village. It goes terribly wrong for everyone else.

Summary
Everyone is acting so weird around Alastor. Acting as though he’s a ticking time bomb. The only person who isn’t acting like that is Vox, who lovingly jokes around with Alastor every morning. It doesn’t matter that he’s sicker than normal and feels freezing to the touch. It doesn’t matter what anyone else says. Alastor is completely sane, and he loves Vox.
Or: Alastor is definitely not sane but still loves Vox

Summary
The grass beneath him was all but frozen, sending burgeoning frost creeping up his legs. In the dark of the night, the crisp chill air whispered soft, lulling songs against his bare body that caused him to shiver all over. The biting, agonizing metal of the manacles around his wrists only worsened the intensity of this unbearable, glacial winter that had descended over the forest.
Not that he had much long to live now. The hour was late and the monsters were coming. His pain would disappear along with him.
He couldn't wait.
