A little bit disappointed, they collected their thoughts about the whole situation. This is really happening. Their last few minutes at most, start now. They don’t want to go back, but it’s just…surreal.
They reach for the door and turn the handle.

The two of us behind the desk felt sacreligious, like all of Eden’s flaws were on display in front of us unknowingly. We both knew, deep down, this was not where we were meant to be, no matter how good it felt. Even worse, I couldn’t admit that I still wanted more than this. Where do you go once you reach the top of the mountain though? What about when the person you climbed up with is already making the trek back down?
Or, simply, a Kennedy era Macbeth rewrite where Vice President and Second Lady Macbeth plot the unsuspecting assassination of President JFK.
