The son of the Pirate King and a double dosed D. The potential of such an individual was almost unlimited. Shamrock tapped the desk with his pen, ignoring the purr he could feel at the back of his mind, his dragon content and covetous.
Would this be it? The first gem of his hoard that would finally make the feeling go away? Firefist would have no choice but to comply, of course, and Shamrock would make sure he wanted for nothing. He would not be the first dragon to have humans for his hoard after all.
He knew he needed to be smart about how he approached this matter. He would have to do this the right way - the old fashioned way.
Shamrock's dragon is not appeased by gems or coins, by knowledge of old or the vastness of the hoard the Figarland family had amassed. No matter how much he forces himself, he cannot be content with the cavern his ancestors had created. It's a good thing Firefist Ace's execution is plastered on all newspapers - it allows him to realize that perhaps he needs something else.
No one quite expected pirates to be that specific something else.

It was a primal reaction to hearing a child’s voice so unexpectedly. It was visceral and immediate; Crocodile hung up the snail.

The East Blue was a destination no one would have expected them to choose. It was also the only place they could go to in order to be safe. The flimsy piece of paper leading Wani flickered in their palm, tugging onward, forward. As if trying to confirm the choice was the right one.
Blue would help. Blue had to help. Wani had to trust the bonds they had forged together in their youth had not sundered throughout the years, even if Wani had not been able to be there for either Blue or Red when Roger died. Even if Whitebeard had denied them any help he could have offered, chained Wani in the brig to make sure they would not go seeking Blue or Red out.

Rouge needed a refreshing change in entertainment at her club to keep the clientele coming. In an effort to keep tabs on a current G.U.N. suspect of interest who frequented the club, Shadow offered himself as adequate entertainment: background jazz piano for the late night hours.
It was supposed to be a short term gig: use the music as a distraction to remain on the club floor, catch the suspect being shady and report to G.U.N., and the club got to advertise a new show to maintain steady crowds.
Of course, nothing went right once Sonic arrived.
