The Party was concerned. Steve's behavior of late, was... weird. He started talking to himself. Max saw him breaking into Eddie's trailer in the middle of the night. Lucas noticed some pretty questionable hickeys when they played basketball. Except how could he be hooking up with someone when Steve never left the house? One thing became clear: it was time for an intervention.

“You bastard, I'll fucking kill you,” Aeron cries, full of anguish,sitting on Davos’ chest, his dagger is clutched in both hands high above their heads, ready to drive it down into the Blackwood's throat.
“You're so beautiful,” Davos says, reverently, still unmoving, ready to let Aeron end him.

More than when he spells out Because (which really sucked for Eddie) or Bastard (a recently learned swear.) He feels all warm and fuzzy because it’s him that Eddie chose to make his spare valentine for, since he didn’t have a dad and a mom. He could of picked Bill or Stanley, gnashing away on the other side of the table with their pinking shears, or the teacher- but he picked Richie.
