Dean gets a lecherous look in his eye and leans over Cas’ shoulder. “Depends on who puts it on whom, right?”
Cas doesn’t look so convinced. “The amulet compels the wearer to carry out the greatest fantasy of the one who gives it to them. That absolutely has the potential to be dangerous.”
“I mean, if I put it on you I definitely know what’ll happen.” Dean wiggles his eyebrows suggestively, then winks. “The only thing dangerous would be the spurs on your cowboy boots. Or…” Dean’s eyes brighten. “You put it on me! Oh hell yeah, it’ll be great! I know you have some kinky thoughts going on in that angel brain of yours.” He snatches the necklace off the table and dangles it in front of Cas. “You know you wanna…” he hums.

She leaned into his ear and whispered. "They say that Sarek and Amanda had a half Human, half Vulcan child. Do you think it's him?"
"Where's the Human part?" Sulu asked from behind him.

He could give in and let himself have this, but it would only ever be a mockery of the love he wished he could have. A falsehood. Little better than a fantasy. This taste would only make his longing worse. He would endure it, however, and would enjoy the memory of devotion, tainted though it might be by a smile so unlike the man he loved.
But first he needed to shatter the dream with his own two hands. Even if doing so could make Spock angry enough to kill him. Strong negative emotions were the only way to free him from the spores, and Kirk couldn’t think of anything else to do but make him angry. If that was what it would take to get the real Spock back, Kirk would do it.
Or, what if the spores in the This Side of Paradise made Spock realize he was in love with Kirk rather than Leila Kalomi?

When Jim Kirk moved back home to Iowa and took the ED nurse job recommended by his friend McCoy, he was expecting it to be a calm change of pace from his old urban hospital. Instead, it's the same shit, just with crappier equipment and a smaller staff. His fellow nurses are great, thankfully, and the lab tech on the other end of the phone has a particularly nice voice.
Spock, former Chemistry technical specialist and perpetual night shift lead, prefers to focus on his work without interruption. Constantly calling critical results to the floor is inconvenient, especially when the new ED charge nurse has such a pleasant laugh.
Hospital AU, featuring flirting over the Vocera, needlessly detailed medical jargon, and a disgusting amount of love paid to the lab staff.
