It felt like everyone was so used to Robert getting egregiously maimed that it was a normal Tuesday for them. And maybe it would feel like that if Sonar wasn't the one to catch him. He keeps thinking of Robert's face, streaked in blood that poured from his nose and from the soot of the explosion. Cheek resting in the fur of his chest while they hit terminal velocity, racing towards a mutual death a half-mile in the clouds.
There was still a lingering current of fear that invaded the peripheral of his awareness anytime Robert was in question. Be it in the break room or watching the man walk home alone, it felt like he had to be somewhere near him. Just in case.
And somehow, Robert doesn't notice.

Summary
The worst part about dating Shin is probably dating Shin, and Natsuki means that affectionately… kinda. Whenever he sees Shin again two things are most likely to happen, Shin gets all sappy and hugs him a lot, saying how much he missed him, or he’s greeted with Shin with some sort of wound, because the clairvoyant can’t go 5 minutes without getting hurt.
Today it’s the latter, Shin’s bleeding out on the floor of the training room, clutching his side, there’s not that much blood so maybe he’s exaggerating a little but there’s still quite a bit of blood. He supposes that that’s typical for Shin though.

“Hey, so do you even know where you’re going?” Shin asks, he’s kicking a rock down the abandoned street to Natsuki’s dismay (“you’re going to attract zombies” “you worry too much”).
“I have an idea at least, unlike you,” Natsuki places his hands in his pockets. It was the middle of the day but there was still a chill in the air. He needed to find Mafuyu, he’s been needing to find him for at least 6 months now. He found Shin during the fifth. They’ve been traveling with each other for 2 months now. That’s kinda weird.
“I have an idea,” Shin bites back. “But I checked that idea and–”
“There was nothing there, you don’t need to tell me twice,” Natsuki shrugs.

Soon enough Mafuyu walks into the lab, he can hear the slight complaints of his labmates but he doesn’t bother with them.
Natsuki moves away from Shin almost instantly, noticing the other’s frown but he doesn’t comment on it.
They’ve been together for about a month now and they still haven’t told that many people. He knows that Shin has told the Sakamoto’s and Lu, the only reason he hasn’t told Heisuke being that he didn’t know how well he could keep a secret.
Natsuki hasn’t told Mafuyu, he doesn’t want to tell Mafuyu.
