The first time it happened was when Rin scraped his knee on a rock while walking back home. Sae had immediately gone to his side to tend to the bleeding wound, but Rin couldn't help but think that the blood — he rarely, barely, saw blood — looked like his brother's hair if it darkened by a few shades.
He decided, right there and then, whilst Sae helped him limp back home, that blood was something interesting.
He should have paid more attention to the road in front of him.
