( There’s a party. There are a lot of parties. They’re in college and it’s only routine. Blake lives biking distance away from campus and Yang’s in the dorms so they often end up seeing each other during the most random times. Weiss is friends with both of them and always ends up greeting her with Yang on her heels like a lost puppy.
It’s... endearing. Interesting. Addicting. This constant back and forth and absolutely confusing dynamic they have. Blake isn’t sure where they stand, if Yang wants to be friends, close friends, not know her at all. Beneath Blake’s calm lies a fierce, witty edge. Her sharp humor catches Yang off guard—and keeps her intrigued. Blake laughs at that; no one really knows this side of her, either, wonders why Yang is the only one who can bring it out.)

Her gaze follows the path Adora had taken in her haste to get away, and she frowns. “She had a major crush, and the girl finally notices her, and she says no. Bow shrugs. Apparently, he doesn’t see that this is all wrong. “Maybe she just lost interest.”
Glimmer shakes her head. No. It isn’t that simple, and she knows it. She knows how to read Adora, and she knows what she’s like when she’s lying.

Bow and Adora thought it wise to warn the unsuspecting party, but Glimmer doesn’t want to take no for an answer, and so, that’s how Catra spills her wine at the door—shocked, and bewildered—as Glimmer shoves her way into Catra’s flat in New York with a sheepish Bow and Adora in tow.
And Catra thought the Americans were the dramatic ones.

Ghira is already looking at them when Kali says this. He’s still watching, the moment when they both pull back a little. Yang keeps one arm locked around the small of Blake’s back but her other hand comes up to brush at Blake’s tears. Yang’s eyes have gone soft as she looks down at Blake even as her own tears come thick and fast.
Ghira can’t see his daughter’s face, but he can see Yang’s. He sees the way Yang looks at Blake, every emotion in her eyes fierce and raw and brown sugar sweet.
