Shane froze. “It was average, nothing to really talk about.” That wasn’t really true. Shane had hated major juniors. He had closed the door on those memories for a reason, more than one reason actually. There was no need to rehash the worst four years of his hockey career. That was over, and Shane was fucking fine.

So when he looked across the hall at the offending door, he absolutely recognized Ilya fucking Rozanov standing in the hallway, looking at him.
Shane Hollander’s door clicked shut behind Rozanov, and neither of them moved.
