“Yeah,” he says. “Will is a boy.” He frowns at her and watches as the realization sinks in, how her confusion turns to something else. Not what he expected, she doesn’t seem repulsed which is good, he guesses.
Or: The world is about to end, Mike Wheeler needs to get something off his chest before dying, and he gets stuck with person he'd least want to be trapped with.

Summary
Will helps Mike bandage a wound on his arm after the events at the MAC-Z. And Mike is completely normal about being around his best friend who has powers now. Just like any best friend would be. Normal.
Except when Vecna goes after Mike, he forces Mikes true feelings to bubble up to the surface as he gets trapped inside his own mind. Of course, the only person that could save him is the one person that causes these buried feelings to haywire.

Summary
Now that Will’s sitting and Mike’s the one that’s standing, he looks impossibly tall. Tall and lanky, and huge. He should sit back down, Will thinks, lay back down next to Will and stay in their own secluded little bubble.
“I really want to kiss you,” Mike says, and Will’s eyes snap back up to his so violently he thinks he hears his own neck crack with the force of it.
“Don’t,” Will croaks, before his brain has even processed the words. “Don’t say that.”
“Okay,” Mike says easily, still staring. And what the actual fuck is going on? Is Will hallucinating? Is the weed making him hallucinate? “So sausage and pepperoni?”
Will stares dumbly at him. “Um - yeah. Yes.”
“Cool,” Mike replies and then just turns around and leaves Will sitting dumbly in his own room.

Mike and Will get high on Jonathan’s weed and Mike has an amazing idea.

“Mike,” Will had said to him, voice calm despite how hard it was for him to even make a sound. He didn’t try to sit up, but Mike wasn’t sure he could, even if he wanted to. “I need you to kill me.”
Mike shook his head, holding Will closer to his chest.
“Mike, please.” Will pleaded, closing his eyes against the light, or perhaps it was too much effort to keep them open. “I don’t want to hurt you.”
“You won’t,” Mike whispered, surprised at how vulnerable he sounded, at the shake and utter defeat in his voice. “You won’t kill me, Will. Because we’re the same. We can’t hurt each other, even at the end of the world.”

It's been three years since the start of the zombie apocalypse and Mike is finally returning home. He discovers that not only is he not the sole survivor of Hawkins, but that his friends and sister are alive, too. As he begins to reconnect with them, the tension between them begins to increase, and Mike doesn't know how long he can stay with them.
Because while some of the group are more than happy to have him around, others don't like the company he keeps...
