Summary
He throws the car in park and removes the key before leaning forward slightly to rest his forehead on the steering wheel. The car shakes as the kids scramble out of it, slamming the doors closed behind them. Each resulting WHAM sets off fireworks behind Steve’s closed eyelids.
He just needs a minute. One minute of silence. Then, he’ll go inside to wrangle the kids and clean up before Mrs. Byers gets back.
A hand lands on his shoulder and he jumps, whipping his head to see who’s touching him. Pain floods over the left side of his head and down through his neck and shoulders. He presses a hand into his left eyebrow, trying to chase the pain away with the pressure.
Dustin still sits in the passenger seat next to him. His hand tightens on his shoulder, eyes blown wide.
“Steve, hey, you okay?”

Summary
The world rushes by him, vision threatening to split in two any second. He only recognizes where he is when he trips going up the Mantis’s ramp. He leans heavily against the door, hand slapping clumsily over the access hatch. When it finally slides open, Cal falls across the ship entrance, body shaking with the effort to hold back the visions.
Safe, safe, safe his body seems to sing with relief.
He hears Cere’s voice from somewhere near the galley, “Cal? Cal!” Footsteps rush to where he is, but he can feel his mind finally slipping.

Summary
Ed’s spent a lot of time thinking about how he’ll die.
He thought, maybe, starvation at the height of the Ishvallan war, when food was scarce. Total annihilation when he faced Truth at the gate. Blood loss as he crawled across the basement floor of his childhood home. Even now, the threat of infected automail sits at the forefront of his mind. Joining the military hasn’t exactly been a walk in the park either, new threats coming in daily.
He never thought he’d go like this, though.
I feel like, as a fandom, we don't put as much focus on the Baschool arc as we should.

Ed’s gaze snaps to him as soon as the door clicks shut. “Okay. So, there’s actually something you should know before the doctor gets in here.” he says in a rush. “I kinda have a–,” his face contorts like he’s in pain, “small,” he grits his teeth together before his face smooths out and he continues, “fear of needles. I know it’s irrational, and I don’t know why, but no amount of logic has really helped before and–”
“Woah, woah, Ed slow down.” Mustang steps forward and places his hands on the boy’s shoulders. He can feel the tremors running through them and he tentatively asks, “Exactly how small is small?”
“Umm…” Ed hesitates, “So, it might actually be a big fear. Massive, really. Like, seriously, you might have to hold me down when they get in here with them because I completely lose control.”

Summary
Roy takes a step closer to wake Fullmetal up and get him resituated when that sound comes again. A high pitched whine forces its way out of Fullmetal’s throat. He pauses to really look at his subordinate.
His eyes are squeezed shut, his bangs are soaked in sweat and sticking to his forehead, and he’s quivering so violently Roy is kind of worried he’ll bite his tongue.
Ed isn’t asleep, he realizes, he’s frozen.

Steve's feet stumbled more than walked, but Hopper didn't care. He half-carried, half-dragged the kid toward the emergency room doors, his jaw clenched so tight it ached. Every step felt like it took too long.
As the two of them started to slowly stumble to the front of the ER, Hopper took a brief moment to think about it. Took a moment to think how despite everything—despite barely knowing the kid, despite all his preconceptions and assumptions, despite the amount of times Steve had purposefully acted like a smart-ass punk just to piss him off—Hopper had realized something tonight:
Steve Harrington was a good kid.

Eddie made a strangled disbelieving noise, expression flickering. “You are not apologizing to me right now, for like, feeling a normal way about stuff. I can’t believe you.”
Steve pushed a shaking hand through his hair. His heart rate no longer in his ears meant he felt he could at least think a little more clearly. “Maybe it was the heat. Doesn’t always have to be something messed up, right?”
Eddie gave him a placating nod. “Sure, heat exhaustion is a helluva thing.”
It had been happening a lot recently. The… forgetting. Zonking out. Whatever. He was pretty sure he was just extra exhausted, it had been a few weeks since everything but it might have just been the adrenaline or something finally wearing off. Sometimes it was like he just forgot someone was speaking, or couldn’t remember for a moment what they’d been talking about. Like blinking out of a fog maybe.
It does not get better, in fact, it actually continues to get worse.

“Sirius,” Remus said.
That was the only warning.
He said it softly, like a statement, almost casually– so casually that Sirius turned expecting him to ask something about what they were having for dinner, or telling him he wanted honey in his tea, or complain about how off brand sports-drink didn’t taste as good as Gatorade.
Instead, Remus’ knees were already buckling. His arm was sliding off of the granite corner of the countertop, and his shoulder was colliding with the barstool to his right, and his body was thudding against the hardwood, and the only warning Sirius got was his name. That was it.
He was moving before he even realized what was happening.

But now Robin and the kids insist he should look after himself, and with Eddie making it his mission to make sure he does, Steve isn't sure he's in a place to argue.

Summary
At some point, Eddie’s hand had made its way to Steve’s bad knee, massaging it gently in soothing circles. It was like magic, the way the deep ached subsided just enough for Steve’s posture to slump. He felt like putty under Eddie’s fingertips. Tension melted away from him as Eddie continued his work over his kneecap to the beginning of his thigh. He couldn’t help but close his eyes and let out a contented sigh.
“Do you want me to stop?” Eddie asked quietly.
“Huh?”
“Steve,” Eddie whispered. “Do you want me to stop?”
