Chibita reached over and took Karamatsu’s hand into his smaller one with surprising force. However, his calloused thumb drew soft, comforting circles into the back of it. Karamatsu revelled in the security of it until he heard Chibita add softly:
“Don’t give up quite yet, Karamatsu. You’re stronger than that.”
