Maybe it was all the windows facing the sunset, maybe it was that the piano was a darker wood than the other studios, maybe it was even that he was just here. In an actual company. He had really made it.
He took a deep breath in as the chorus of Dancing Queen came on.

Tommy will never forget how he froze and watched the dark green goo Phil coughed up as he fell to the floor before Techno could reach him. The glass shattering from the kitchen followed and the panic as Techno pressed a hand against their fathers neck to check the pulse.
Bump, bump, bump.
The relief that crashed through the house when it was still there. Like nature itself exhaled in relief.
Or; as a new disease infects the world, Tommy, a plant hybrid, has to find a way to cope with the fact that his family is running out of time and that he will be left alone once it passes.
