Summary

I love that you're Victorian aristocracy who learned to pour water for a struggling seamstress. I love—" Her voice broke. "I love you, and it's not fair. None of this is fair."
When she opened her eyes, he was almost completely gone. Just the faintest suggestion of cold, a whisper of presence.

“Come on, Granger,” he went on, pouting his lip again. “We’re inevitable. Why won’t you just give in?”
“You’re fucking delusional,” she hissed, which only caused him to laugh.
“Such a tease. You always have been. Fortunately for you, I’m ambitious. Once I set my sights on something, I never give up.” He glanced down, his eye catching on the receipt as some of her drink soaked through the parchment. “Pretty signature, Granger. Perhaps someday soon, your initials will read HM. Wouldn’t that be nice?”
Her eyes widened in surprise. He smirked.
“Hermione McLaggen might be the sexiest fucking thing I’ve ever heard—”
“McLaggen.”
Cormac froze, irritation washing over him at the interruption. He turned his head to see Draco Malfoy standing there, his gaze fixed on Cormac’s hand where it held Granger’s wrist. Malfoy’s eyes flicked up to Granger’s face, assessing, before meeting Cormac’s stare.
“What exactly is going on here?”
