It started with Theo almost dying at the hands of his dead sister – over and over again. That should have been the end of it but Liam had to go and fall in love with the asshole somewhere along the way.
Mix in a bit of Melissa and Scott being the best mother-son combo, some familiar old faces that would always be a sight for sore eyes, some familiar old faces that all of them could have done without, a little stabbing, a little poison and a fat wiener dog-beagle mix named Gertie and you have yourself a pretty eventful summer.

Wyatt Hayes character study. Reminiscing about his time in Toronto and then Ottawa and budding friendship with Ilya as he realizes that Ilya and Shane are in love. Amazing character study, very interesting. Wyatt is so funny.

The most hilarious exchange I've read in a fic by a mile.

“We had a wedding this weekend, Miss Emma! With Uncle Shane,” Ruby Pike announces during Monday morning circle time. Miss Emma nods and tries to play it cool. It was exciting when the Pike twins mentioned Uncle Shane. Like he was just their dad’s totally normal BFF instead of the greatest hockey player Canada had seen in two decades. But she wasn’t going to fangirl in front of the kids.
“Well, it was a pretend wedding—” Ruby starts to clarify, but then Jade Pike interrupts her.
“Uncle Ilya said if you do the rings it’s a real wedding.”
Miss Emma’s eyebrows shoot up into her hairline. Uncle…Ilya? As in…
“Uncle Ilya said the rings and kiss made it real so we should tell Daddy to get him and Uncle Shane a very, VERY expensive gift,” Jade continues.
There’s that name again. Uncle Ilya. In the same breath as Uncle Shane. With the word kiss. That couldn’t be right…

Very sad fic. Ilya didn't go to the cottage, he does back to Moscow. Years later Yuna and David die, Shane is paralysed and Ilya comes back. Sad but beautiful. Worth the pain.

Summary
It’s perhaps the sweetest Svetlana has ever known Ilyusha to be. She has always been granted access to the more affectionate side of Ilyusha, the one that he rarely shows to anyone else, but it was never anything compared to this. This tenderness, this adoration, that he gives so freely to Shane. It’s like her best friend is a completely different person right now, and she starts to wonder if maybe she was wrong earlier.
Maybe, instead of being too boring for Ilyusha, perhaps Shane Hollander is giving him the space to become something soft. Something without walls, or masks, or armour.

It was one of his favorite things to do. Watching his person play. Ilya was the most alive during it, and Shane just loved seeing him shine. In the arena, all the weight Ilya carried seemed to fall away, allowing him to be light.
Shane’s eyes never left Ilya, and when it happened, he barely registered at first.
It happened so fast. Suddenly the puck hit Ilya’s throat. Shane’s stomach dropped.
Ilya couldn’t breathe.
