When Xie Lian ascends for a third time, Heaven is shocked to learn that he is under the influence of a love curse which also forces him to stay close to another person who’s cursed in the same way. Feng Xin and Mu Qing are thus tasked to accompany Xie Lian to track down the ghost who cast this curse and reunite His Highness with the other half of the cursed couple. Speaking of, who the hell even is this San Lang?
Or: People are always so fast to assume Hua Cheng must’ve cursed Xie Lian for the latter to fall for a Ghost King, so what happens when the two are actually cursed to be in love? It changes absolutely nothing and everything at the same time. Stay tuned for the usual amount of shameless flirting between Hualian while Feng Xin and Mu Qing are not so quietly suffering in the background as they have to watch that.

All heads turned to him, horrified, and Jiang Cheng wheezed, tears coming to his eyes as he laughed at everyone else’s expressions. He could hardly care about his reputation at that moment.
Lan Sizhui and Jin Ling looked mortified, but they too were struggling to hold in their laughter. Ouyang Zizhen had to furiously bite his lip and avoid his father’s watchful gaze. Lan Jingyi was struggling the most.
Wei Wuxian and Nie Huaisang were covering their mouths with the back of a sleeve and fan, respectively. Lan Xichen was sighing, but his eyes were twinkling.
“My apologies for my husband and my brother.” Lan Xichen explained to the crowd in a neutral voice. “They are still processing this terrible loss."

When he entered the cave Lan Wangji had chosen to hide to heal and protect from the world a severely injured and delirious Wei Wuxian, no one else had been around. Xichen had flown in great speed managing to reach the place a few minutes before his uncle and the other elders. But those minutes had been enough to secure him a spot close enough to the pitiful couple mixed in a swirl of black and blue robes to hear the words the man labeled a monster by the whole cultivator world mumbled.
