The pain It felt was overwhelming.
Pain.
Pain overwhelming Its form, It shifted, wings sprouting from its back then melting, limbs growing at odd angles, too many joints to make sense, then collapsing. It writhed in on Itself, reformed, then split itself open again. It was making blood curdling sounds It didn’t know It could make, on plains of existence that shuddered away from It. It felt the scurrying of the supernatural beings, fearful animals running from a wildfire of pain sent crashing through the universe itself. The nearest star flickered in sympathy, the oceans pulsed, the air strained under the stress of the energy being thrown out of It.

He clearly is asking for help. Which is sort of ridiculous, if not entirely understandable. The man looks like a wreck. He’s nothing without the power Draven provides, clearly! And the proposition is interesting, which means it is tempting to him. In truth, Draven wonders if will stave off the boredom of his recent mundanity more than the liquor and the fighting and the women have.

Or, Draven finds the down trodden former general Swain in his office. H has plans for a coup on the Grand General Boram Darkwill. He's asking for Draven's help. But after being ousted for his failures in battle, stripped of his titles and glory, Swain seems to be a shell of his former self. McCoy froze under Spock’s gaze. His eyes were softer than usual—a sight McCoy had only witnessed once before, back when they were imprisoned together. He had told him then, that he wouldn’t know what to do with a warm, decent feeling and Spock had offered him the exact same sight. For all his passion, McCoy could be cold, especially with Spock. Nothing justified his past behavior, and it stung now, seeing Spock look at him with eyes warmer than a Georgia summer.
