Summary
Ginko is searching for an elusive new mountain lord that has yet to take on its duty. Meanwhile he muses about human nature, the nature of mountain lords, the nature of Nature itself, and his role in all of it. Once he seeks the animal out, he finds more than he bargained for (literally).
It’s a good thing because he ends up needing some help of his own.Part of the title is a terrible pun that I couldn’t stop myself from making 😉 You'll understand.

Summary
Adashino may not be able to see mushi, but that doesn’t mean they can’t choose him as their host.
When Adashino is possessed by a mushi that lives off other mushi, Ginko becomes sick. Very sick. The Tokoyami in Ginko's empty eye struggles to survive the influence of this stronger mushi. Ginko is pulled along in this struggle, bleeding and in pain.
The Tokoyami may be strong enough to fight off this dark mushi, but Ginko’s body isn’t, which leaves him torn between staying to save Adashino and risking his own life - and leaving, never to return again.

Summary
The third time Ginko falls into a forced hibernation, he happens to be in Adashino's village. When Adashino hires another mushishi to treat Ginko, he ends up learning more than just the name of the mushi infecting his friend.
