    The Recruiter’s head falls into his hands as he cackles, and then he doubles over and laughs even harder. His chest heaves and his stomach hurts, and he laughs until he can no longer, and even more than that. He clutches his stomach and falls to the ground on his knees, and still, he laughs.

    “Detective,” he yells, “how could you do this to me, detective?”
