Summary
I might have occasionally left marks on her so that, if people were to look closer than I’d feel comfortable with, I could at least ward them off, and I might have wished, sometimes, that they knew it was me and no one else doing that to her – but biting her all over her body, while soothing in the moment, never did make me feel any better in the long run, and would only leave bruises on Sendai-san that mocked me with their uselessness for days.
The necklace, like her earrings, were always meant to mark her as mine in a way that wouldn't gradually just fade over, even if we were the only ones who knew what they meant.
But that doesn’t seem to be enough for Sendai-san anymore, and I’d be lying if I said, in full seriousness, that it was ever enough for me.

Really, it wasn't the lyricist’s fault that her math teacher thought weekly tests were a good idea, and this particular one had been especially important.
Mafuyu misses Kanade's birthday, but makes sure that the day is something to remember fondly forever :)

Kanade froze. She stared dumbly from where she stood in the open doorway. Rain poured down on the roof above but the air was thick and humid, suffocating. It was before the morning rush so its rhythmic drumming was the only sound that could be heard, as though a warning cry to the oncoming school-goers—and yet here Mafuyu was, head bowed, soaking wet and waiting politely at Kanade's door. She didn't seem to mind the torrential rain or the sticky heat. In fact, she would have appeared completely unbothered if not for the trembling of her clasped hands and the vacant look in her downcast eyes.
“I shoved her shoulder but the place she hit was bad,” she said, “I don't think I can stay here anymore so I'm going somewhere far away to die.”
Or, Mafuyu wants to die and Kanade goes wherever she does.

It was so crazy it might just work, and Klara wasn’t thinking straight; what little sense she had remaining knew that much. All she knew was that somewhere within the Vienna Court Opera house, there was a prop dagger filled with rubies, one that Isolde spoke about with such adoration and with such a brilliant, beautiful smile, it felt unfair for it to belong to anyone but her.
