When the two discover just how much their respective fandoms ship them, they decide to lean into their ship’s draw to fuel their fanbase, not considering where the line between playful taunts and trust falls lies.

The thing is that it's been two days since he and Buddy last saw each other, and Chase can't stand to wait another minute.

Bronze clears his throat as he ventures forth into the room.
The reaction is immediate. The figure spins around like a kid caught with their hand in the cookie jar before dinner—eyes wide, fork frozen mid-air.
Bronze feels his face drop. It’s strange feeling skin and muscles contort instead of the usual stillness of metal—but the sensation barely registers. There’s something else, something far heavier beneath his bones, dragging through his chest like a boulder sinking in water.
He knows that face.
And he watches in slow motion as “Buddy” appears to be experiencing a similar emotion.

She didn’t waste a second to use it to tease Nick. One could argue there was a certain pettiness behind the light-hearted ribbing, or that it wasn’t a bright idea to flaunt the recorder around him, given what happened when he had used it to pester her during the Honeymoon Lodge climb. But who could blame her? It wasn’t often she had a chance to leave Nick stuttering or even speechless, and the pen in her belt was her golden ticket.
What she could have never predicted was how her attempts to tease Nick would backfire on her, as she constantly found herself eager to listen to the recording just one more time.

The 73rd floor, though it seems as straightforward as any floor could be, is haunted by rumors around people going missing during the floor test. No one knows how it happens or where they end up, but it is said that the missing members never return to their teams.
Bam's team reaches the 73rd floor and finds out exactly how real these rumors are.
Aguero tried again, and this time, he felt the snap of his connection to his lighthouses severing, as swift and painful as a bone breaking. The one under him lurched and went out entirely, sending him sliding off of it and hurtling downward.
"Khun!" Bam screamed.
It struck him with a sort of ridiculous clarity then, the realization that he was going to join the rumors of the missing people on this floor. Had they all fallen the way he was now, watching the platform grow more and more distant as their teammates shouted desperately for them?
