Why was it so hard for the rest of the Justice League to come to terms with the fact that someday, somehow, they might need to be stopped too?

Cloud Retainer’s avian form circled overhead, Ganyu leaped down the mountainside to join her master, and his angel’s song was carried on the wind, weak but thrumming. All he wanted then, was his yaksha.
He called to each of them, one after another, both by given name and title. Each time, he stood still, watching through the drifting cinders for their faces to appear, and listening for their familiar voices asking, “Yes, my lord?”
Yet all was silent.

More words hung in the air like the butchered rabbit William killed once. The guts of every syllable intertwined with the blood of every letter, making a horribly gutted and dismembered apology.
The silence that followed was the rot that seeped into the poor rabbit. William refused to bury it, so in the end it was left to shrivel there, leaving a pungent taste in the two men's mouths.
“But you’re alive.” Henry offered a bleak chance of revival. “And… Why Elizabeth made you come here is beyond me, but… you’re here.”

Between them, the Joker’s body. Blood blossoming around his head. Brain matter spattered on the floor. Smiling. Eyes vacantly staring up at the ceiling.

Bruce approaches slowly. Like he’s approaching a skittish animal. “Tim,” he says softly, and the boy blinks at him, still laughing, still sobbing. There are tears in his eyes. “Tim, put down the gun.”

“I guess it’s your turn then, right?” Kakavasha said, ending their game of chicken, “Shoot.”
Shoot. Ha. That was a pretty apt word for the question she was about to ask. It felt just as piercing as a gunshot.
Vashara forced her voice to come out steady and not concerned, “What is the relationship between you and Jade?”
Shock flitted across Kakavasha’s face. He looked at her like she was crazy, like the question was utterly ridiculous. He had some nerve.
It was obvious Kakavasha and Jade had more of a relationship than they led on. He spoke of her constantly, and mentioned working with her all the time. And sure, maybe Vashara wanted some dirt on an IPC big wig. But Vashara was a mercenary and was doing a fine enough job researching Jade on her own. Really, she just wanted to make sure Kakavasha was safe around Jade. Or, that is, as safe as he could be with such an evil woman.
Maybe he was just surprised she had the nerve to ask.
Kakavasha was silent for a few more moments before finally, he laughed, short and uncomfortable, “Weird. It’s super weird. Okay, I think we’re done for the day!”
Vashara and Aventurine have a conversation they’ve been avoiding.

“I am your worst student,” Danny answered. And he lowered one arm exclusively to point. “And THAT is the dead body of my ghost clone.”

Alone on the farthest outskirts of Amity Park, Danny Fenton and Edward Lancer bury the dead body of Danny's clone. It is long and tedious work, and Danny can't dodge Lancer's questions forever. Surely it's only fair of Lancer to demand to know what he has been pulled into. Surely Danny could use someone on his side, now that his evenings are spent burying his clones.
