Izuku Midoriya was familiar with burns, he was subjected to hundreds if not thousands of them over the years. this was different, his skin was on fire and all he could do was scream and pray for it to stop, his veins filled with fresh fire every time he moved, which sucks considering he was currently being forced to move near constantly. Today was supposed to be great, his first chance to show that he could truly do it, that he could become a hero! But now, in a near eldritch sea of writhing black tendrils, he felt as if he'd failed, he didn't know what was happening, but two things were certain, one, he was scared. Two, and this was the real kicker. this. wasn't. one. for. all.
