The hunt for Hank MacLean leads Lucy and the Ghoul to New Vegas, but a shortcut through a cazador nest results in a sting with some... inconvenient side effects. Quarantined together in Vault 21's Honeymoon Suite, the cazador's venom brings on a humiliating, relentless need that Lucy can't ignore and the Ghoul refuses to acknowledge. She remains silent for a while. Eventually, she tilts her head. “You…tried protecting me.” His eyes narrow. “Sorry. I know it’s stupid, but I—” She starts laughing, shaking her head. “Forget it.”
No. He doesn’t want to forget it. He wants to know every thought going through her head. Despite the short amount of time that they’ve been traveling together, she’s made quite the impact on him. Because of her, he’s been feeling things he hasn’t felt in decades. The desire to protect. To comfort. To…touch.
“I ain’t gonna let anyone hurt you,” he says. “That’s my job.”

“It is. Which is why I’m not ashamed of what I was doing.” Her fingers drum the edge of the bed. “What isn’t natural is walking into a room you know is occupied without knocking first.”
He can’t hold back the eyeroll this time. “It’s called an accident, Sweetheart. ‘Sides, I didn’t know. Ain’t like I can see through walls. So, how was I supposed to—?”
“By knocking.”
He huffs. “Well, ‘scuse me for not givin’ ya the luxury of a private room.”
She takes a deep breath. “You’re right. I’m sorry. This isn’t your fault. What has happened, happened.” She gets to her feet. “Can we drop it now?”
He hums. “Depends.”
“On?”
He tilts his head, debating if he should go through with this. “Who’s Cooper?” If he’s lucky, the risk will be worth the reward.

AKA, after leaving the observatory lucy starts having nightmares but when the ghoul starts showing her kindness those nightmares shift into something...different and lucy isn't quite sure how to handle this new and sudden attraction especially considering the ghoul's everchanging personalities

It's not like Lucy can just leave him there. Obviously, a second rescue is in order.
