Summary
Everyone knows that the voices of the underground radio broadcast le sous-sol helped coordinate—and by most accounts, were the people behind—the overthrow of France’s former fascist regime. What we didn’t know (until now) was the truth about who those voices were, where they came from, and how they came to lead—and give their lives for—a revolution. Fortunately, new information has led researchers to one of the Friends of the ABC’s earliest hideouts, where they have found a variety of recordings and other paraphernalia that document the earliest days of that long, grueling fight for freedom.
So, for all you history buffs out there: these are those documents, scanned and transcribed with as much accuracy and fidelity as we could manage. This is the (surprisingly human) story of how le sous-sol began, and how it became the force that united a people in the name of freedom.

It was a perfectly average age to settle, and it happened so quietly and naturally that neither he nor Moira even noticed at first. They had other things to think about: today, they were aiming to beat out Ben Barnicoat and Max Verstappen at Val d’Argenton.
It wasn’t until they were getting into the kart that they realised. Moira normally transformed into an insect to race, something small enough that she could crawl inside Charles’s race suit and be protected as he drove. Today, she didn’t even try to change; they both just looked at each other, and knew.
“A mouse,” he said.

Summary
It is the end of Spring, just after a great rain, when fate leads Keiji to the wet crunching noises of an injured animal on the last legs of its life. Only, it's not an animal.
It’s a man.
His arm is bent in an odd direction, sinewy muscles hanging uselessly as he peers up at Keiji with unfocused, pain-hazed eyes. They still glow, as gold as the sun, under all the dirt and mud and blood.
For the first time in his life, Keiji doesn’t choose to move on from the death he sees in the forest. Instead, it seems like the easiest choice in the world to fall to his knees; a bottle of medicinal herbs already popped open in his palm.
When villager Akaashi Keiji rescues Bokuto Koutarou from what he believes is a hunting accident, he doesn’t expect to get sucked into the political intrigue of the Imperial City.
Or: wherein everything has a price, even for heaven’s chosen son.

It's one of the stories I periodically come back to read every couple of months lol. My favourite thing about it is how the evil queen' s evil becomes more excusable. At certain points in the story you truly pity Yuta and hope that he gets his happy ending even if it means destroying winwin. The evil queen has so much more depth and reasoning behind him that it makes the done character feel flat lol. As a conclusion, I really enjoy this reimagening and will come to it soon.
