Trilogy of Marauders era/Hogwarts AU + after school (1975-1982), focused fully on James and Regulus POVs. Canon-divergent (adjacent if you squint), but the path to defeating Voldemort lies not in the prophecy but in Regulus' hands.

Summary
It's the Marauders' Era, the age of great beauty and yet greater tragedy in the wizarding world. But there's just one difference, in someone who's not even a part of that world: Petunia Evans, on receiving the rejection letter that seemed to spell her fate, did not give in to jealousy and sourness, but instead chose to stay determined and defiant. Who knew that this one, insignificant change in a Muggle could end up changing the fate of an entire generation? This fic is intended for the purpose of fixing all that can be fixed, saving all who can be saved and redeeming all who can be redeemed. This is probably going to be a long fic.
Also, if you're only interested in the Black brothers and their connection to the Potters and just want to read about Reg running away to the Potters with Sirius and everything that follows, then you can just read every chapter I title as 'Never Going Back' (partly still in progress as of now, there's five consecutive parts that are completed and then two follow-ups several years later which there's a long time left for yet) without needing to really know or read the rest of the fic (although please, by all means, do!)

“Regulus Black.”
Regulus feels like he’s going to vomit. He takes a deep breath, clears his hair from his face, and strides towards the center of the room with his chin high. He eyes Dumbledore, the Abnegation leader, as he takes the knife from the man, turning to the bowls and ignoring the old man -- even before the articles Rita Skeeter started releasing about him and the Abnegation faction, he didn’t like the man.
Five bowls. Stones, Water, Earth, Lit Coals, and Glass. His fate lays out in front of him in the form of five large bowls and the elements they hold.

He probably assumes that Regulus is going to pick Erudite anyway, and he wouldn’t want to be disappointed.
He’s wrong.
Regulus swiftly turns to his left, letting his blood sizzle over coals.
The word ‘Divergent’ screams at him from the back of his mind. He knows his family would kill him if they found out, maybe he’s safer in Dauntless.

Jegulus Divergent AU where Regulus is in the place of Tris and James as Four alongside various other people replacing the cast of Divergent. Regulus navigating being in Dauntless and learning to fight, face his fears, and attempting to find his brother.
