For a while this isn't a problem. Well… for the length of an ill fated car ride this isn't a problem. When the cross-county roadtrip becomes a cross-realms roadtrip it becomes a bit more pressing.
In another Forgotten Realms this is solved slowly through forced cohabitation, a mutual goal, and mutual suffering. In that forgotten Realms Henry Oak dies far from the home that he'd made, in a far too familiar land. He dies on the wrong side of tentacles as is so familiar for that Forgotten Realms.
In this Forgotten Realms the problem of strangers and synchronicity is solved a bit more expediently. The tentacles are still there though.
Or what if Henry had actually died in episode 58 and had been sent back to the moment the dads came through the portal.

Shane’s face is rigid. “Um. I won’t?”
“Thank you,” she says gravely. “You have saved a life.” Rose laughs, stroking Shane’s arm, and he suddenly remembers Svetlana’s hand is hanging. He takes it limply and disposes of it quick. His eyes look a little wild.

“You like it, right?” Shane whispered against his lips.
“Hm?” Ilya tried hard to focus on Shane’s words but Shane felt too good, the pressure of his ass on Ilya’s crotch too maddeningly distracting.
Shane leaned in so that his mouth was now right on Ilya’s ear, stilling his movements. “I said,” he breathed hotly, “you like it? Being my dog?”
And this was new. The words sent an electric shock down Ilya’s spine, making him involuntarily thrust up into Shane. Ilya swallowed, closing his eyes and nodding furiously, as Shane nibbled on his ear lobe and sucked sweetly at the skin there.
“Speak,” Shane said simply, the same tone he used when talking to Chiron or Anya. When talking to dogs.
“Fuck,” Ilya choked out. “Yes, da, yes, I like being your dog.”

After the whole mess with Rose, Shane doesn't know who he's meant for, but he knows it will probably never be Ilya Rozanov. This doesn't stop them from meeting again and from Ilya throwing a cruel comment out on the ice. Shane has never enjoyed being just "pretty", not to anyone, but after Ilya implies that Shane wasn't pretty enough for him to stay, Shane is determined to show Ilya just how pretty he can be.
