It's always terrifying. Sneaking behind the garages, out of the pit lane and paddock, away from people and cameras. Finding tiny, dark spaces where you can exist in peace for a few stolen minutes, before you hear somebody’s steps or someone’s looking for you to do another interview or pose for another photo. Those dark places are sacred. They are a blessing and a curse, but no one ever stopped to think what if they wouldn’t have to look for them. Why if they could just… exist out in the open, for every media outlet to capture and post. For official team accounts to make cute edits. Sometimes it feels tempting to just fuck it. But then the rush of possible consequences floods your mind and you’re stuck. So you choose darkness. Become a shadow that is never to be seen. Not for who he really is.
