Will Byers is convinced he doesn’t deserve anything good, not with the hand the universe dealt him, and certainly not when he’s responsible for everything that causes his loved ones agony.
Mike Wheeler isn’t sure where he belongs anymore, but he knows that he wants to make sure his best friend, Will, knows he belongs with him.

I’m going insane over where Vol. One ended, so, naturally I had to write my own fic where both Will and Mike suffer and fail to learn the art of open communication.

Summary
It’s been over a year since Vecna fell and the Upside Down collapsed, but recovery isn’t as simple as surviving. Some wounds scar. Others linger beneath the surface.
Will Byers is still learning how to live in a body that remembers everything—the Hive Mind, the injuries, the fear.
Good thing he has Mike, and friends, and family who refuse to let him face it alone.
Or, independent chapters / mini stories based on a "what if" of Will's prolonged exposure to the Hive Mind, the Upside Down, etc.

Summary
Set in the 18 months between season 4&5
Will and his family have been living with the Wheeler's ever since they came back from California.
Everything was going well for the first few months until...
There are voices whispering to Will in the back of his mind. Every night he wakes up in a puddle of cold sweat and has an inexplicable need to destroy something. He grows restless and distant with all he loves. He becomes violent with the people closest to him.
Except...He relishes it.
OR
Will is evil and secretly a spy under Vecna's influence (and somewhat his own will with convincing)
Vecna wants to lure Mike into the upside down, with the help of Will, to get revenge on Eleven, who is now nearly powerless after she'd drained her abilities in the final battle in the upside down creel house.
Will thinks with everything he's been through, he has every right to be the villain that he is in this story.

Summary
Will cupped Mike's jaw and bridged the distance between them, gently rubbing his face against Mike's forehead, careful to avoid the wound. His heart beat painfully with the action, at once feeling undeserving but also like this was his only chance.
I love you, he didn't say.
Will Byers has always been good at hiding. His trauma. His fears. His heart.
But when Vecna uses him to hurt Mike, he realizes the truth: he's not a weapon. He's a liability. So he'll finish this alone — even if it kills him.
Mike Wheeler has always been bad at saying what he means. But with Will missing and something inside him fracturing in a way he can't name, he's running out of time to figure it out.
