That would turn out to be easier said than done. Aki hadn’t ever had a sister growing up, only a sickly younger brother, though he doubted that would have prepared him for Denji.

Summary
Aki never thought he’d find himself in the possession of a pup, especially one with so much baggage. And yet, he finds himself carrying one in a bundle of blankets, his scrawny form shaking.
“Is this okay?” He asks, met with a tiny nod as the boy settles against him, inhaling his scent and purring. It wasn’t what he had expected to come of his day, Denji was normal that morning. Now, he’s small in his arms, shivering at the cold. Some reversal devil, Makima explained to him. Exterminated safely, he should go back to normal sooner or later.
Or, Aki somehow ends up with even younger pup Denji on his hands, unprepared to be thrust back into the roll of an elder brother.

Angel stared at the hand for a moment before reaching out to shake it.

Summary
An infuriated cry from the girl pulls Denji out of his own head and gives him the push he needs to do what he needs to. His eyes never leave the girl as he takes a step forward and asks, hoarse and breathless, "Is that...?"
The girl freezes. Then her eyes snap up to Denji, a pair of bright yellow and orange crosses that he knows better than he knows his own.
Denji's heart stops.
"Power...?" he whispers.

Summary
It starts with a searing pain in Aki's right forearm.
He doesn't get a chance to react. Before he can blink, Denji's pulled the Werewolf Devil off him and is running it through with his chainsaws. His manic laughter fills the air as Aki stares blankly down at the ragged, bleeding bite, barely registering the pain beyond the sinking sensation of dread. Later, he will wonder if Denji realizes the implications of what just happened. Right now, he can barely process it himself.
With a single bite, Aki's life falls apart.

Summary
Rounding the corner at the back of the store, the fetid stench of putrefied meat hits Aki like a physical blow. Mountains of once fresh food decay in broken freezers. Gagging, Aki covers his face with his sleeve. There aren’t any doors and there don’t seem to be any bodies. His eyes water. He can barely stand the smell, but he peers at the open freezers, taking half a step forward to look down the aisle. No bodies on the floor. Satisfied, he goes back to the pharmaceutical section, where the air is much clearer.
As he’s considering the back of a packet of pills, he hears an ear splitting scream—
Power.

She’s so deep inside of him that he doesn’t think he’ll ever get her out. She’ll always be there, clawing at the back of his mind.
A lump forms in his throat. He can’t force himself to speak, and so her name dies on his tongue the same way the rest of her did.
She’s gone. He devoured her, down to their first impressions.
