– On Hiatus! Being Rewritten! –
Marinette is not supposed to be his holder. Plagg was painfully aware of this. He was aware when he saw the child create clothes and creatures and patterns. He was aware when he saw Marinette's luck manifest itself in Nathaniel's friendship and the Guardian Tome.
Plagg was supportive of his holder. He was, truly. He cheered for her successes, mourned for her failures, and encouraged Marinette into becoming the best she could possibly be.
But the Tome made Plagg afraid. He flickered more often, tense and on edge. What did the Guardians say about him? Did they call him a beast, a creature of pure evil, a Demon? A force of nature that had no potential to be good or pure, leading to nothing but corruption, destruction, and death. Who knows how much the Guardians added to the story? How much got embellished or twisted?
Still, Plagg watched as Marinette slowly translated the Tome, black mist flickering.

Summary
It was a weird sensation, being pulled through the fabric between realities. It wasn’t like when he was dusted, it wasn’t like stepping through a portal. It was more like falling sideways through nothingness.
The pulling kept getting stronger and stronger and the nothingness warped around him, which was really weird because how is he seeing the nothingness being warped if he can’t see the nothingness? The pulling got strong enough to make Peter feel a little sick to the stomach until it just.. stopped. 100 to 0 in a second and he was standing on a building, facing the sunset.
He stumbled backwards, disoriented. He was on his feet and was somewhere again, in some reality. Peter dropped to his knees and vomited, thankful he hadn’t been wearing his mask that entire time. He scooted away and collapsed on his back, breathing heavily up towards the sky as he tried to calm everything down. His spider sense was humming at a constant, almost freaking out. Peter guessed it didn’t like being in a universe that wasn’t its own.

After being on the run from his parents and the government for a couple of months, moving from town to town, Danny ends up in Gotham City and decides to risk staying in Batman's territory. He'd take the wrath of Batman over live vivisection via beloved parents or being studied and torn apart by the government. Besides, he's not a meta. Being dead is a medical condition.

Summary
Peter knew he was strange. He knew the spider bite changed him in ways that shouldn’t be possible. He also knew that this new version of himself was who he was always supposed to be. He liked who he was. Even through the whispers behind his back and right in his face, he liked who he was.
People talked. They talked about him, the people around him, even people he pretended not to know. They talked about the changes his body went through, the hint of fangs, the sudden flash of red eyes, the muscles he had gotten overnight, the scars marring every inch of his skin. They talked about the noises he made, the reactions he had to sudden movements, the way he walked around without shoes and didn’t even address it.
Or: Peter is the cryptid of Midtown High, and people like to gossip about him

Summary
All Marinette wanted to do was buy some dishes and twinkle lights.
Instead, she got wrapped up in an all-out game of hide-and-seek between four of the most well-trained vigilantes in the world. Involving Home Alone-esque traps, crushed forklifts, a surprising amount of shoplifting considering they're the good guys, and the beginnings of an epic bond with a smirking, laser wielding, maniac.
Not that she knew that at the time. All she saw was a cute guy hiding behind a desk, and the rest was history.
