If possible, Jason’s smirk grows sharper.
“Oh?” he mumbles, crossing his arms with a smirk. “Wanna bet on that?”
Like a true Wayne in everything but blood, Tim freezes and slowly turns to meet Jason’s challenge with a narrowed glare.
“Do I want to bet if you get stabbed when whatever you have planned to make Damian smile will, certainly, get you stabbed?” Tim asks, voice monotone.
Jason nods, chin held up high with pride as if he had already won. “Yah.”
Tim blinks. Once. Twice.
By the third blink, his smirk matches Jason’s perfectly.
“You’re on.”
(Or the one where Dick just wanted to prove his dumb brothers wrong about how their youngest does have a heart and a smile, come on, and it somehow turned into a bet on who gets to see the smile first without getting stabbed.)

Damian sighs, exasperated, but still waves his arm offhandedly as if to give him permission. What a brat.
Jason throws, lands, and sticks the crab bite neatly in Justin’s exquisite locks without any casualties.
Jason shouts, warmth bubbling inside him at his own victory. He throws a wide grin at his brother behind him, and he's able to enjoy the full three seconds he gets to witness Damian’s equally wide grin before Heaven itself rains down on them and sumits them to Hell.
(Or the one where Jason and Damian willingly decide to be stuck together during a gala and their chilled evening of throwing crab bites on strangers' hair is interrupted by unwanted bombs. Which would be fine, if Damian priorities were the same as Jason's.)

Damian felt..strange.
That was the only word for it. There was nothing obvious he could point to that was wrong. He wasn’t injured, he wasn’t annoyed, he just felt off. Like something wasn’t clicking right. It felt like only half of him had woken up this morning, and the other half was still laying in his bed. It had started right when he opened his eyes. He didn’t move from the soft folds of his comforter for a while instead he remained still, eyes staring at the wall to his right. Fixated on the smallest chip in the paint. The clock read 5:00am and though Damian’s brain was telling him to get up and start his day, he couldn’t. He wanted to move but it was like he was glued to his bed and no matter how much he told himself to get up his body refused to listen.

Upon Damian’s arrival to the manor and within his run as Robin, he can agree that he was slightly cold and only engaged in touch if it were to battles. Since then he has made his own progress and adjusted to being the so called ‘Baby’ of the family as the media has pinned it. But the greatest adjustment he has had to make has been how his family does not find him to be a skilled warrior but some kind of pliable child to hold or throw or even worse… cuddle.
Damian did not understand the human instinct that if a family member that was younger was around then you should pull them into your lap. It made no sense whatsoever yet it occurred all the time and Damian seems to be helpless to stop it. He doesn’t even realize it occurs until it is too late. That is how serious this issue has become.
.... Or people keep pulling Damian into their laps and he's getting annoyed

“So Wayne, who are you going to write? Can't be your mom since she abandoned you and all. Don't tell me your gonna make a mom up,” everyone stopped what they were doing to watch. Even the teacher looked up, though he did nothing, the absolute asshole.
“Don't be foolish, I do not need a mother, real or imaginary,” Damian said in a haughty tone of voice. The hand on his shoulder tightened.
“Oh yeah? Then who are you writing for on mother’s day? Everyone knows this assignment is mandatory so fess up already,” and Damian opened his mouth once again before he could stop himself.
“I will be writing to Richard,” and then immediately regretted it. But it was too late, he had already told the entire class that he would be writing a mother’s day letter to Grayson and he couldn't take it back unless he wished to be branded a coward.
